Why support us?
We are aiming to raise £1,500 for this year’s Italian Job charity Buttle UK. Since the first run in 1990, the event has raised nearly £3 million and we’re keen to add to that total.
Buttle support children and young people in poverty and aim to help them have the things that most of us take for granted, for example, beds and bedding.
Buttle is unusual in that all costs are paid for by a £1million endowment set up in 1953 by Reverend Frank Buttle. This incredible act of generosity means that all of the money we raise will support children and young people that need Buttle’s support.
There is a massive fun element to The Italian Job that we’re looking forward to and, importantly, all of the expenses needed to take part will come from our pockets, we’re not asking for any money to support our involvement in The Italian Job and if we receive support in this area, servicing of the Mini, breakdown cover, etc, we’ll donate the equivalent cash value to Variety.
There is a challenge involved, 3,000 miles in two and a bit weeks in a Mini measuring 10 feet x 4 feet x 4 feet will be an achievement, both for us, and the car!
So, how can you help?
General good-heartedness
You can donate via our Virgin Giving Money page. If you are a UK tax payer please Gift-Aid the donation, which boosts it by 25%. This goes directly to Buttle and they will be able to put the money to good use almost immediately.
Sponsorship and support
If you would like Mini based publicity please get in contact. We are selling advertising space on the car for your logo or advertising stickers and have different sizes to fit a range of budgets. We will be getting as much local publicity as possible and seeking national coverage too. Our contacts in the classic car world (and we have some pretty big names in our address book) will help us spread the word far and wide.
The Mini with your advertising on it will be driven regularly around Cranleigh and Leatherhead over the next 12 months.
You will also feature on this website and have the satisfying glow that you helped children have a better life.
